Rose M. Thompson graduated from California Western School of Law and has been a licensed attorney since June 2001. Prior to law school, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. In her over twenty-one years as an attorney, she has focused entirely on practicing Immigration Law. She founded Rose Immigration Law in June 2009. The State Bar of California certified her as a legal specialist in immigration and nationality law in 2014. This certification requires the awardee to pass a specialized bar exam on the topic of immigration law. She is also fluent in Spanish, having studied at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Mexico.  

 

During law school, Rose interned at the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program, where she assisted as a Spanish language interpreter for clinics that provided pro bono immigration services to immigrant spouses who were victims of domestic violence. Her first attorney position was at Casa Cornelia Law Center, a public interest law firm that offers immigration services to victims of human and civil rights violations. At Casa Cornelia, she successfully represented a client before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
